Initially, the wishes, concerns and suggestions of guests and islanders were identified through an online survey and corresponding fields of action were worked out. Various teams and working groups were formed to put their heads together, consult, develop ideas and set priorities.
After these ideas have been derived into sustainable future concepts, those responsible are focusing on the following vision in all actions, projects and measures, not least in the competition with other destinations: Borkum By 2030, it is expected to be the most livable and touristically attractive East Frisian island, offering the highest quality of life and vacation on the North Sea coast.
Special thanks go to the members of the “STEP” team (= steering group, tourism economic development, perspectives) and the KITT teams (concept development, idea generation, topic identification, trend setting), who provide important impulses and play a decisive role in the development of concrete fields of action and ideas!
