The Klinik Borkum Riff is a German Pension Insurance clinic, divided into two specialist departments with a total of 196 beds, of which 100 are in the dermatological area, 72 in the psychosomatic area, and 24 for dual rehabilitation in the field of psycho-dermatology. The North Sea's marine climate proves particularly beneficial in the healing process. Pure, pollutant- and allergen-free air, as well as sunlight, promote healing. In the dermatology department, patients with chronic dermatoses (e.g., psoriasis vulgaris, atopic dermatitis, and other eczema diseases) are treated. Patients with malignant melanomas of the skin are also cared for as part of follow-up treatment (AHB procedures). Diagnostics are performed in the clinic's own laboratory. Furthermore, cardiopulmonary function tests including body plethysmography, blood gas analysis, CO diffusion capacity, resting, stress, and long-term ECGs, 24-hour blood pressure monitoring, and sleep apnea screening can be performed. Sonographic examinations and phlebological diagnostics are also available. The clinic has an allergological testing laboratory for all procedures and serological tests, as well as a mycological laboratory.

In addition to intensive medical treatment, the focus is on patient education, teaching strategies for coping with illness, particularly in cases of psychological stress, constitutional atopic dermatitis, psoriasis vulgaris, and other skin diseases. Stress management, relaxation techniques, and health and smoking cessation training are offered.
