To improve the quality of life and stay Borkum To increase the traffic flow and reduce the associated effects of motor vehicle traffic, such as noise, exhaust fumes, and the risk of accidents, two traffic-calmed zones were created, in which seasonal restrictions apply to motor vehicles. The "Red Zone" designates the area close to the town center, while the "Blue Zone" forms the wider area. There is a driving ban in the blue zone between 21.00 p.m. and 07.00 a.m. There is a general driving ban in the red zone. Parking is not permitted in the night-time closed area (“blue zone”) between 21.00 p.m. and 07.00 a.m. This allows us to travel faster on foot or by bike and protects our environment.
We ask guests who have their accommodation in the blue zone not to drive on paths in the red zone.
