The Neue Leuchtturm has been guiding nighttime shipping around the East Frisian Islands for over 130 years. But it also provides valuable services during the day. With its 60,3 meters height, the New Leuchtturm to offer guests a magnificent view – over the island town and the dune landscape BorkumSee the UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea and the open North Sea. It was built in 1879 within six months. 308 steps lead up to the viewing platform. The tower stands on the west side of the North Sea island. Borkum and is thus the westernmost Leuchtturm Germany.
